The Lexington Park, Maryland native arrived on Grounds in 1997 and quickly established himself as a gritty teammate and a dependable force on defense. A starting linebacker on Coach Al Groh’s first squad in 2001, Duckett earned second-team All-State honors from the Roanoke Times, and received the Speed Elliott Award as Virginia’s Most Improved Player. He recorded 115 tackles, including 67 solo stops and three sacks, before signing with the Buffalo Bills.

Following his playing career, Duckett turned to entrepreneurship, and poured energy into creating opportunities for others. He founded the GET ON Movement, teaching speed, agility, and life lessons to the youth of Southern Maryland. For the past ten years, he has also led the Nicolet Basketball Association, providing a positive outlet for kids and adults, while uniting disparate groups from across the community. Among other honors, his work has earned him the Stanley J. Goodwin Award for Community Service and Volunteerism from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

In 2022, after the tragic loss of his son Jamari to a drunk driver, Duckett turned grief into purpose. He has emerged as a leading voice for judicial reform in Maryland, advocating for 'Jamari’s Law' and stronger sentencing in cases of vehicular manslaughter. His resolve has turned Jamari’s memory into a lasting call for change, while inspiring others to stand tall in the face of tragedy.
