A native of High Point, North Carolina, Eddie came to Charlottesville after an exceptional high school career, where he was named Conference and County Player of the Year, an All-State selection, and captain of the Shrine Bowl team. At the University of Virginia, he was a three-year letterman at defensive end and earned his degree in Psychology in 1995.

After his playing days, Eddie built a successful 25-year career in business and sales. His professional success was matched by his passion for service — giving his time to industry organizations, mentoring young professionals, and serving on multiple boards, including the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association and the Apartment Association of North Carolina. Known for his leadership, positivity, and care for others, Eddie viewed success not just in numbers, but in the impact he had on people’s lives.

Beyond his career, Eddie was a man of faith and family. A devoted husband to Brandi, and proud father to Erin and Olivia, he was deeply involved in his church, serving as a deacon and member of the security team at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Whether on the sidelines of his daughters’ games or at the grill sharing stories and laughter, Eddie’s presence filled every room. His wisdom, warmth, and joy touched all who knew him. Though Eddie passed away last year, his legacy continues through his family, his teammates, and all those he inspired with his kindness, integrity, and strength.
